To check the customs tariff, follow these steps:

**To buy:**

1.  Click “Check” on this page
2.  Select “Import” and, in the search field, enter the item you want to buy
3.  At the end, the VAT amount associated with the item you want to buy will be displayed
4.  To simulate the final purchase price, add the price of the item to the VAT amount.

There are two ways to pay the charges associated with the purchase:

1.  **Paid at the time of purchase**
    *   The seller includes VAT in the final price. In this case, orders do not have to stop at the border for VAT payment purposes. This applies to orders worth up to EUR 150.
2.  **Paid at the time of delivery**
    *   The Portuguese Tax Authority, CTT or the carrier sends an invoice with the VAT amount to be paid for the order. Payment must be made before the order is collected from customs. CTT or the carrier may also charge a customs clearance fee.

**Note**: Other charges may be added to VAT, depending on the type of products.

**To sell:**

1.  Click Customs > Customs Tariff > Nomenclatures > Export
2.  In the search field, enter the item you want to sell
3.  At the end, the tariff code and the description of the goods will be displayed.
